Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Al-Anqari has highlighted the great attention given by the Saudi leadership to the sector of education. During his meeting here with the Director of Umm Al- Qura University Dr. Adnan Wazzan and members of the university's academic staff, Dr. Al-Anqari said the allocations of the universities were doubled in the last five years. He noted that a plan for promotion of the university education was set up in 1419, and accordingly a committee comprising representatives of a number of ministries was formed. He said the Kingdom's wise policy in this respect led to the establishment of a number of new universities and colleges as well as the development of the existing universities and colleges.
