The Council of Ministers hailed the election of Asif Ali Zardari as President of Pakistan in its regular weekly session on Monday. Dr. Saud Al-Mathami, State Minister for Shoura Council Affairs and acting Minister of Culture and Information, said in a statement that the Cabinet expressed its hope that the election of Asif Ali Zardari as President of Pakistan last Saturday would achieve the Pakistani people's aspirations for peace, unity and security. He added in his statement to SPA that the Cabinet heard with great relief the results of talks between Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and King Abdullah Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan. The talks, held during the Jordanian Monarch's visit to the Kingdom for Umrah earlier this week, had stressed the importance of joint Arab work to face up to the challenges in various regions of the Arab world. The two leaders also emphasized the solidity and depth of relations between the two countries and their shared aspiration to bolster cooperation in all fields to the best interests of their brotherly peoples and the Arab and Muslim nations. The Cabinet stressed the importance of concerted efforts and comprehensive cooperation towards the greater success of plans and programs to serve pilgrims in the Two Holy Mosques during the holy month of Ramadan. It emphasized that no efforts will be spared and everything will be done to provide various services for the comfort and security of prayer performers and help them perform their rites calmly and quietly. The Cabinet approved two treaties between the Kingdom and Yemen, one on air transport services and the other on cooperation between the two countries' judiciary systems. The Cabinet also approved a number of procedures concerning the Saudi National Center for Organ Transplants, including tying the center directly to the National Board of Medical Services.
