CTS & SMP, Gulf Express, Hanco Maintenance, Saudi Oger and SBG-RPD registered victories in the ongoing Enjaz and Western Union Basketball Tournament at the Sport Village here. Organized by the Filipino Basketball Association this event is mainly sponsored by Enjaz (the remittance services of Bank Albilad) and Western Union Money Transfer. Other supporters of the big event are Al-Hussaini & Al-yahya Investment Group (Seiko), Samsung (UMG), Royal Brunei, CDC Holdings-Quadrllon Sales, Inc., Giordano Fashions, Sky Freight Forwarders, Puerto Del Pueblo Dev. Corp., La Paz Batchoy & Ay Sarap Restaurant, El Paborito Filipino Food Stuff and Amoudi Almesari Tailoring. In a thrilling match between the strong teams of Saudi Binladen Group-RPD of Anwar Hafez and Ruel Manarang and Ken Bautista's Al-Majal Servicemasters the former won 86-76. The first 20 minutes of play was much close which showd RPD ahead by only a point (39-38). But in the second half, four players of Al-Majal fouled out resulting to their defeat. EITR, Nabus, Fernando and Adaya delivered good points for RPD. Carpio, Villegas, Cornejo, Buhat and Manguerra tried to bring their team to victory but failed. CTS & SMP of Rabigh scored a resounding victory over Alhamrani-Fuchs of Marwel Blas 81-68 via the sweet shooting ability of Solomon, Panlilio, Fabian, Torrente, Nuqui and Malaluan. Villanueva, Dimaronsing and Lindres gave all what they could in vain. Gulf Express of Geri Carredo, Rey Mariano and Usman (Sonny) Esmail also lambasted Fluor Arabia of Lyn Epps & Elmer Abadin in a lopsided match. Brezuela, Baluyot, Macalintal and Betonio were instrumental in their team's victory. Quibin, Espayos, Tordecillas and Bonilla did well for Fluor. Islamic Development Bank (IDB), piloted by Robert Celis showed its best in trying to bring the bacon home but failed and lost to the more seasoned Hanco Maintenance cagers, led by the veteran coach of the league, Edgar Ainza. As usual, Naguit, Costuna, Cruzat, Cabello and Puertellano led their team to win over IDB which fought in vain through Elvinia, Antallan and Ora. Mar Basilio's Saudi Oger Jeddah, one of the regular entry teams of FBA for a long time, excelled in overpowering Sharbatly Corporation of Alex Torremania 86-73 despite the nice effort of their key players Del Rosario, Estrella, Carredo, Tacuboy and Bajaro. Manalansan, Principe, Calma and Turla delivered the winning points for Saudi Oger. __
