RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Egyptian Minister of Foreign, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed over phone the situation in Syria and Gaza. Their phone conversation focused on the latest political and military developments in Syria, according to a statement of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. During the call, Abdelatty reaffirmed the importance of supporting Syria's sovereignty during this critical stage in the history of Syria. He also stressed the necessity of respecting Syria's unity and territorial integrity while enabling its national institutions to play their role to restore Syria's stability. He also emphasized the need for an inclusive, Syrian-led political process to achieve lasting peace. The two ministers also discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian minister outlined Cairo's ongoing efforts to mediate a sustainable ceasefire and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.
