Bahrain-based airline Gulf Air has ordered eight new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in a deal estimated at $2 billion, a daily reported on Thursday. The airline, which announced in March that its projected debt at the end of 2007 would be BD254 million ($676 million,) agreed the deal on Wednesday. Crown Prince Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa agreed the purchase during a visit to Boeing's facilities in Seattle, according to the newspaper. In March, Gulf Air announced it had finalized a $4 billion deal to buy 16 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with an option for eight more, taking the price to around $6 billion.
