PARIS — Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Eng. Waleed Al-Khuraiji represented Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the international conference to support the people of Lebanon and its sovereignty, held in Paris, France. In his speech, Al-Khuraiji underscored the necessity of collective commitment to assist Lebanon in confronting its current crisis and mitigating its humanitarian repercussions. "The Saudi government affirms its support for the brotherly Lebanese people in light of the difficult circumstances they are facing, and its full commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at a ceasefire and activating sustainable diplomatic solutions to establish peace in Lebanon, preserve its stability, and respect its sovereignty," Al-Khuraiji stated. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's emphasis on the importance of supporting various Lebanese state institutions in fulfilling their constitutional duties to extend state sovereignty across all Lebanese territories. "Permanent stability will only be achieved through building a strong state capable of imposing its sovereignty and exercising its legitimate role in serving the Lebanese people," he remarked. Al-Khuraiji highlighted the critical role of the Lebanese Army in maintaining the country's security and stability, stressing that it is essential for enabling the Lebanese state to take steps toward ensuring a secure future for its citizens, free from conflict. He called for adherence to the implementation of relevant international resolutions aimed at protecting Lebanon's sovereignty and independence, as well as the execution of the Taif Agreement, which serves as the framework for ensuring Lebanon's stability and national unity. Al-Khuraiji noted Saudi Arabia's fraternal commitment and supportive stance toward the Lebanese people, mentioning the Kingdom's initiative to provide urgent humanitarian assistance. This includes medical, relief, and shelter supplies, facilitated through a continuous air bridge to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese and meet their urgent needs in these critical circumstances.
