RIYADH —The World Energy Council announced that the 27th World Energy Congress, hosted by Saudi Arabia from October 26 to 29, 2026, in Riyadh, will be held under the slogan "Inspiring Changes for Energy Transformation." "Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 2026 World Energy Congress comes at an important stage for the global energy sector, as the world witnesses continuous transformations and developments in this vital sector, whose economic and social importance is increasing daily," said Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. He added that Saudi Arabia will seek, through organizing this conference, to achieve the goals that the conference aims for, which are in line with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030. The conference aims to present sustainable opportunities in light of the different economic components and regional conditions in the energy sector with all its components in a comprehensive manner. Its slogan, "Inspiring Changes to Achieve Energy Transformations," comes after the slogan of the previous conference edition, "Reshaping the Energy Landscape," which was held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, last April, to transfer the world's efforts in the field of energy transformations from thinking to implementation. "We have chosen this theme for the 27th World Energy Congress, to be held in Riyadh in 2026, to focus on the effectiveness of our work today to achieve successful transformations in the energy sector around the world," said Dr. Angela Wilkinson, CEO of the World Energy Council. Saudi Arabia's selection to host this global event comes in recognition of its prominent role in the energy sector and its continued leadership in achieving energy transformations. The selection also reflects Saudi Arabia's position in leading global efforts to promote sustainability, innovate advanced solutions in the field of clean energy, and adopt pioneering initiatives such as the Saudi Green Initiative and the Green Middle East.
