RIYADH — Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday the provision of a monthly financial grant to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. This support aims to address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and its surrounding areas, as well as to alleviate the suffering caused by the Israeli occupation and its flagrant violations of international laws, including international humanitarian law, the Saudi Press Agency reported. This support comes out of the gracious care of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for the Palestinian people, and out of their commitment to providing all forms of assistance and support to the State of Palestine. In this context, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed the significant efforts made by King Salman and the Crown Prince in communicating with the international community to halt hostilities, protect civilians, and deliver increased humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. The Kingdom emphasized its leadership's commitment to finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, as well as to ensure that the Palestinian people can obtain all their legitimate rights and establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Saudi Arabia underscored its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, which remains a central and top priority. Since the start of the crisis, the Kingdom has exerted every effort to alleviate the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. By leading the ministerial committee appointed by the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit, the Kingdom successfully rallied unified Arab and Islamic support for the Palestinian cause. This effort resulted in several friendly countries recognizing the State of Palestine, advocating for its full membership in the United Nations, and calling for an end to Israeli aggression and the lifting of the blockade on Gaza. This assistance forms part of the ongoing support the Kingdom has provided to the Palestinian people for humanitarian, relief, and development purposes over the years. The total support to Palestine has exceeded $5.3 billion, demonstrating Saudi Arabia's longstanding commitment to helping the Palestinian people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
