RIYADH — The Saudi National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science, under the Ministry of Culture, has established the Saudi Creative Cities Network Committee, following a proposal from the Culinary Arts Commission. The committee's goal is to leverage best practices to enhance cultural participation across cities by integrating cultural elements into urban development plans. Notable Saudi cities have been recognized for their creative contributions: Al-Ahsa for crafts and folk arts, Buraidah for culinary arts, and Taif for literature. Secretary-General of the National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science Ahmed Al-Bulahid emphasized that the new committee will promote integration among communication officials for UNESCO Creative Cities. The committee will facilitate the exchange of expertise among Saudi creative cities, ensure the achievement of membership targets, and support local cultural initiatives. Additionally, it will play a role in promoting and activating these initiatives and coordinating participation in cultural events at local, regional, and international levels.
