ALQASSIM — Striker Abdulfattah Adam led Al Taawoun to their first victory in the Saudi Pro League, securing a 1-0 win against Al Fayha on Thursday in Buraidah. Adam scored the match's only goal during stoppage time, breaking the deadlock in a game that seemed destined for a goalless draw. Adam managed to break the silence of the match and opened the scoring for the new season with a header in the fifth minute of stoppage time, earning Al Taawoun their first three points of the season. The match also witnessed the first red card of the new season, which was awarded to Al Taawoun's Ibrahim Al Shuwaish after the referee reviewed the incident using VAR. Al Taawoun had to cope without the services of Walid Al Ahmad, who was forced to leave the pitch early in the match due to an injury, with Oun Al Salouli coming on as his replacement in the 12th minute. Additionally, Mohammed Al Kuwaikibi was substituted at the start of the second half due to an injury, with Sultan Mandash taking his place.
