RIYADH — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a detailed report on forecasts of the expected climate conditions all over the Kingdom during the summer season from June to August 2024. The report stated that the probable forecasts for the summer of this year indicate an increase in the average surface temperature by up to 80 percent in most regions of the Kingdom, an increase of up to two degrees above the normal rate. It is also expected an increase in the rate of rainfall in most regions of the Kingdom, especially in the months of July and August, with a chance of occurrence reaching 70 percent. The regions of Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, Najran and the highlands of the Makkah region are expected to witness heavy rain. The report expected the possibility of temperatures rising in July by up to two degrees in the regions of Hail, Qassim, Al-Jouf, and the Northern Borders and parts of the Madinah and Tabuk regions, and a degree and a half in the regions of Riyadh and the Eastern Province, while the change from the average would reach one degree in the rest of the regions. The month of August is expected to witness a possible rise in temperature rates, with a change from the average of up to two degrees in parts of the regions of Hail, the Northern Borders, and a degree and a half in the regions of Riyadh, Eastern Province, Madinah and Tabuk, while the change from the average reaches one degree in the rest of the regions. The report indicates the possibility of rainfall in all regions of the Kingdom in the month of July, higher than the normal rate, with a chance of occurrence between 60 and 70 percent. It is expected that most regions of the Kingdom will witness rainfall higher than normal in August, with a chance of occurrence reaching 60 percent, with the exception of parts of Makkah, Madinah, and the Eastern Province, which will be around average
