RIYADH — Dr. Faisal bin Saud Al-Mujfel has been appointed ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Syria. Al-Mujfel extended his thanks, appreciation and gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for the royal confidence reposed in him through appointing him as the Kingdom's ambassador to the Syrian Republic. While expressing his great pride over the appointment, Dr. Al-Mujfel prayed to God Almighty to provide him ability and success in performing his tasks in a way that achieves the aspirations of the wise leadership through serving the interests of the Kingdom and consolidating the bonds of bilateral relations between the two countries. It is noteworthy that Syria appointed earlier Dr. Muhammad Soussan as new ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Dr. Soussan assumed charge in Riyadh in January this year. In May 2023, Saudi Arabia restored diplomatic ties with Syria after a hiatus of 12 years.
