JEDDAH — Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji, represented the Kingdom at the Foreign Ministers' preparatory meeting ahead of the 15th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference to be held in Banjul, Gambia, on May 4-5. Deputizing for Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan, El-Khereiji delivered a speech emphasizing Saudi Arabia's achievements during its presidency of the 14th Islamic Summit. In his address, El-Khereiji outlined the Kingdom's efforts to bolster joint Islamic actions and underscored the significant role Saudi Arabia played in advocating the causes of the Islamic world, particularly in unifying its ranks and presenting their concerns on global platforms, including the United Nations. A central theme of his speech was the unwavering support of Saudi Arabia for the Palestinian cause, reinforcing the Kingdom's stance on Palestine's right to statehood as recognized by international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. El-Khereiji also stressed the importance of maintaining unity and solidarity among the nations within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He called for adherence to the principles of non-interference in internal affairs and emphasized the necessity of collaborative efforts to ensure security and stability throughout the Islamic world.
