RIYADH — Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, assistant speaker of the Saudi Shoura Council, met on Wednesday with a delegation of senior aides and advisors of US Congress members at the council's headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting is part of the delegation's current visit to the Kingdom. Dr. Al-Ahmadi welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the Shoura Council's functions, specialized committees, and its legislative and supervisory roles. She highlighted the council's active participation in international unions and the efforts of parliamentary friendship committees. Dr. Al-Ahmadi also discussed the significant developments across various sectors in Saudi Arabia, particularly in the legislative framework. The meeting also covered the bilateral relations between the two countries, discussing parliamentary affairs and topics of mutual interest. Attending the meeting were Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nahas, head of the Saudi-American Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and committee members Maj. Gen. Ali Al Sheikh, Dr. Reem Al Yahya, Dr. Faisal Al Fadl, Prof. Bandar Asiri, and Dr. Najwa Al Ghamdi.
