The Consul General of France in Jeddah, Mohammed Nehad, inaugurated the latest edition of the Francophonie Festival, which is set to run from February 26 to April 29 at the Residence of France. The opening night featured an enchanting concert by the mezzo-soprano Farrah El Dibany. Accompanied by Egyptian pianist Mina Barsoum, Saudi oud player Ahmed Boustaji, and Tunisian percussionist Aymen Attitallah, Farrah El Dibany captivated the audience with her powerful voice. Her performance offered a spectacle that took guests on a musical journey through Francophone cultures. Prior to the concert, a press conference was held to outline the program details and the festival's objectives. This initiative, which began on February 26 in collaboration with Francophone consulates as well as institutional and educational partners, celebrates the French language, Francophone cultural diversity, and the connection among member countries of the Francophonie. The Francophonie Festival presents a rich array of cultural, artistic, and educational activities. These include concerts, conferences, culinary workshops, film screenings, art exhibitions, theatrical performances, sports tournaments, interactive games, dance shows, and traditional costume parades, showcasing the diversity and richness of the Francophonie in Jeddah.
