RIYADH — Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman announced that Saudi Aramco was able to add large quantities of proven reserves of gas and condensate in the Kingdom's unconventional Jafura field. "The additional confirmed quantities accounted for 15 trillion standard cubic feet of gas and two billion barrels of condensate. This achievement is a result of the application of the highest international standards in estimating and developing hydrocarbon resources in a way that ensures their proper exploitation," he said. Prince Abdulaziz said that the quantities of resources in Al-Jafura field are now estimated at about 229 trillion standard cubic feet of gas, and 75 billion barrels of condensate. The estimates of proven resources and reserves in Al-Jafura field were ratified by a major independent consulting company specialized in the field of authentication on resources and proven reserves. It is noteworthy that Al-Jafura field, located in the Eastern Province, is regarded as the largest non-conventional and non-associate gas field in the Kingdom to be discovered with a length of 170 km and a width of 100 km. The volume of gas resources in the field deposits is estimated at 200 trillion cubic feet of wet gas that contains gas liquids for the petrochemical industries and high-value capacitors. The state-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco is developing the field, with investments amounting to SR 412 billion ($110 billion).
