PR Arabia has announced the winners of its auto awards launched in collaboration with Sport Auto magazine. The awards were given either to individuals or companies for their services rendered to the automotive industry. During the awarding ceremony, Salah Al-Daour, General Secretary of PR Arabia Auto Award, highlighted the reasons for launching the award in Saudi Arabia. “This is the first award of its kind in Saudi Arabia and the world. The main goal for launching this award is to express our gratitude as well as recognize the efforts of all workers in the automotive world for serving a great segment of the community," he said. He added that the first award beneficiary are consumers as its launching will encourage workers in the automotive industry to compete and offer their best services to improve overall consumer satisfaction. In his speech, Al-Daour thanked both car dealers and the media for their support as well as the members of the jury for their time and efforts and encouraged them to participate in future award ceremonies. Ali Hussein Alireza, Head of Cars Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the award had attracted the attention and trust not only of the winners but the whole Saudi automotive sector. Abdullah Al-Shemasi received the “Best Support to Automotive Society” award for presenting an important model for community service by launching six years ago the Luxury Motor Show (EXCS) for luxury cars in Saudi Arabia, which still enjoys unprecedented success. Hazem Al-Doby of Saudi Auto magazine, received the “Best Editor in Automotive Media” award for his distinctive automotive editorial reports, high-acclaimed test drives and mechanical expertise. Hankook Saudi Racing Team won the ‘'Best Achievements in Motorsport” award. The team was founded by the talented Saudi racecar driver Saeed Al-Murry in 2010 and is considered the most popular racecar team in the Kingdom. The team has participated in various car races and won local and international championships. National Commercial Bank (NCB) won the "Best Car Leasing Program” award. Founded in 1953, NCB is the first Saudi bank and the largest bank in the Arab world with assets of more than SR345 billion in 2012. Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Motors received the “Best Automotive Dealer” for selling cars that meet the needs of both luxury and low-budget motorists. The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe received the “Best Sedan 2013” award while the and Range Rover got the “Best SUV car 2012-2013” award. The renowned sports car Porsche 911 Carrera took home the "Best Sports Car 2013” award. Porsche Centers, Saudi Arabia, won the "Best Car Safety Initiative” award for organizing Porsche Safety Driving Programs for children. — SG
