RIYADH — Saudi Arabia welcomed on Sunday the statement, issued by the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary General for Yemen, with regard to reaching a road map to support the peace path in the country. In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom's continued support for Yemen and its people. The ministry also emphasized its constant keenness on encouraging the Yemeni parties to sit at the dialogue table to reach a comprehensive and lasting political solution under the auspices of the United Nations, and to move Yemen to a comprehensive renaissance and sustainable development that fulfills the aspirations of its people. In a significant development for Yemen, the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Yemen Hans Grundberg has announced a major breakthrough following a series of meetings in Riyadh and Muscat. These meetings, which included discussions with the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al Alimi, and Houthis chief negotiator, Mohammed Abdul Salam, have culminated in a commitment by the parties to implement a series of measures.
