RIYADH — A young woman stabbed herself in front of the Al-Amal Hospital for Rehabilitation. Red Crescent spokesman Saeed Al-Ghamdi said the Red Crescent had responded to a call regarding the incident. A police patrol was already at the scene, and the Red Crescent examined the woman and found her to be mentally unstable and should be taken to hospital. The Red Crescent paramedics asked the police patrol to accompany them to the hospital, fearing the woman may hurt her self. However, the police refused and left the scene. The paramedics claimed that they tried to contact the police for two hours, but to no avail. They transported the woman to the hospital, and when they arrived, she stabbed herself again in front of the hospital with a knife she was hiding. She was taken to the University Hospital.
