RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the America's Georgetown University, has set up a high standard training program to train 26 leaders from entities related to commerce. The program targets developing skills, capabilities and knowledge of the ministry's leaders and the leaders of government agencies in the business sector, especially in international trade and e-commerce. A number of Saudi ministries and authorities, including the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Ministry of Justice, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Capital Market Authority, the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers, and the Judicial Legislation Preparation Committee will also participate. The program aims to develop the leadership skills and strategic practices and policies, in addition to project management, communication, and crisis management. It is also concerned with planning the training needs of leaders by conducting necessary evaluation tests to determine the areas of development and training. Georgetown University, established in 1789 , is one of the most prominent educational institutions in the world in fields such as business, law, and international affairs. The university graduated kings, presidents, ministers, and diplomats from various countries of the world, and scholars who have won Nobel Prizes. The training program comes within the framework of the ministry's keenness on developing human capital, and investing in competencies and empowering capabilities, in a way that contributes to providing an appropriate commercial environment for growth. This will also enhance Saudi Arabia's competitiveness regionally and internationally, as well as in developing a sustainable and prosperous economy.
