NEW YORK — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived in New York City on Tuesday to attend a high-level session of the United Nations Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestine issue. Prince Faisal's arrival at the UN headquarters comes at the invitation of Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, as Brazil holds the presidency of the Security Council for this month. The high-level meeting will discuss the latest developments in Gaza and its surrounding region, and the international efforts being made to resolve the crisis. The meeting will highlight the importance of protecting civilians, and achieving peace in accordance with international laws. Prince Faisal will also hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the high-level Security Council session.
