RIYADH — The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) announced on Thursday the launch of the fourth phase of Riyadh Bus service, which comes within the King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project. The King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh aims to enhance the public transport services in the Saudi capital by applying the highest international technical and technological standards and improve the urban environment. With the launch of the 4th phase, the total number of Riyadh Bus routes reached 40, served by 614 buses, covering more than 1,632 different stations and stopping points, and covering 70% of the total transport network, which is 1,900 km long. The project will continue to launch the remaining phases with the aim of fully operating the Riyadh Bus network before the end of 2023. The fourth phase includes the addition of 7 new routes. It will also improve the efficiency and flexibility of transporting passengers in Riyadh with comfort and safety. The service is supported through the Riyadh Bus application, which provides a number of different services such as planning the trips, tracking the trips through the interactive map. The app also provides the feature of allowing people to purchase the tickets. As for the project's platform on the following link: www.riyadhbus.sa, it provides a set of services for passengers to enable them knowing the bus routes, and the mechanisms of purchasing the tickets. To pay the bus fare with ease, the commission has allocated the Darb Card service, which can be purchased at ticket vending machines at Riyadh Bus stations or ticket sales offices. There are multiple options for purchasing tickets, with different prices and validity: the ticket price for 2 hours is SR4, 3-day ticket is SR20:7-day ticket is SR40: 30-day ticket is SR140.
