RIYADH — Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Media Regulation Salman Al-Dossary thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion of the Council of Ministers' approval of the new regulation governing the General Authority for Media Regulation. The minister emphasized that the decision would enhance locally produced content, as all media content will be under the authority's umbrella. It aims to support the Kingdom's economic activity in various fields of media, and generate jobs and job opportunities, by creating an investment environment that will further empower Saudi companies apart from attracting foreign direct investments. Al-Dossary said the Cabinet decision would also lead to adopting the latest trends and best practices approved regionally and internationally in the field of media, which contributes to achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 by diversifying the sources of the national economy. He expressed hope that media regulation under the umbrella of the General Authority for Media Regulation would contribute in achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership and developing the Saudi media system.
