MAKKAH — The reigning champions Al-Ittihad continued their flawless performance in the Saudi Professional League, defeating Al-Wahda 3-0 on Monday in the fourth round of the competition. The match, however, took an unexpected turn as Karim Benzema left the pitch before the end of the first half due to injury. Al-Ittihad had to wait until the second half to secure their victory over Al-Wehda, as the first half ended in a goalless stalemate. Brazilian striker Romarinho opened the scoring for Al-Ittihad in the 63rd minute, followed by a second goal from Portuguese winger Jota in the 67th minute. Igor Coronado sealed the deal with a third goal in the 73rd minute. With this win, Al-Ittihad achieved their fourth consecutive victory, bringing their tally to 12 points at the top of the league table. Al-Wehda, on the other hand, now stands at six points, holding the sixth position in the standings.
