RIYADH — Assistant Director General of the Anti-Drugs Directorate Abdulilah Al-Shareef said 101,000 people were detained in drugs-related cases over the past three years. Half of the accused were Saudis and the confiscated drugs consisted of 138 million Captagon pills, 88 tons of hashish, and 319 kilos of heroin. During the past year, 300 women, of which 40 percent Saudi, have been admitted to Al-Amal hospitals for de-addiction treatment. He added the directorate is exerting great efforts in combating addictions and is concentrating their efforts on educating women in schools and universities.
