ALGIERS — Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi Minister of Sports and President of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, has attended the opening of the 15th Arab Games, Algeria 2023. The opening of the Games, which Algeria is hosting until the 15th of July, was inaugurated by Prime Minister of Algeria Ayman bin Abdulrahman, with the attendance of Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, the head of the Saudi delegation, and a number of officials from the participated countries. Prince Abdulaziz conveyed, during his speech in the ceremony, the greetings and appreciation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and their good wishes to the Algerian leadership and people, and to all the Arab youth and athletes. He also congratulated Algeria's leadership and people on the occasion of the country's Independence Day, which coincides with the opening of the 15th Arab Games. Algeria's Prime Minister said, "We are gathering to move toward a new step with honest steps and diverse sports in order to enhance the values of competition. The opening ceremony witnessed the raising of the flag of the League of Arab States, the flag of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees and the flag of the 15th Arab Games. It also witnessed many artistic and popular performances, as well as a parade in which more than 2,200 athletes representing 22 Arab countries participated. Saudi Arabia is participating with more than 180 male and female athletes in 17 items — 14 Olympic and 3 Paralympic. — in the Games.
