RIYADH — A 22 years old 'brain-dead' man in Riyadh has saved the lives of 5 people after donating his organs, the Saudi Center for Organ Transplant (SCOT) announced. SCOT said that the medical team has succeeded in transferring the man's organs to 5 patients, noting that he had donated his organs before death. The organs have benefited several patients. The center has transplanted the 22-years old donor's kidney to a 34 years old women patient in the King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard in Riyadh. The center has also transplanted a kidney to a man in his sixties in the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Riyadh. Moreover, his liver was transplanted to a 62-year-old patient in the King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard in Riyadh, as well as transplanting his heart to a 59 years old man at the same hospital. Additionally, SCOT has transplanted a lung for a 56-year-old woman patient at KFSHRC in Riyadh. The center said that the young man died after leaving his mark and planting hope in the bodies of 5 people he did not even know about them or their names, calling on everyone to donate organs after death to save the lives of patients.
