Indonesia and Saudi Arabia held the 8th meeting of their Joint Commission in Riyadh last Aug. 30-31 where they agreed to expand their bilateral relations. A press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Ryadh, Saudi Arabia, which was made available to Antara on Tuesday, said the Indonesian delegation at the meeting was led by Primo Alui Joelianto, director general of Asia Pacific at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and the Saudi Arabian delegation by the country's Deputy Manpower Minister Abdulrahman bin Saad Al-Bawardi. The two sides at the meeting discussed cooperation in various fields such as industry, economy, oil and energy, food and drug supervision, product standardization, agriculture, fisheries, security, manpower, sports and youth affairs, tourism, environment, telecommunication, and eradication of crime. The accords reached were formalized in the meeting's agreed minutes which were signed by Primo Alui Joelianto and Abdulrahman Bin Saad Al-Bawardi. The two parties expressed their resolve to further strengthen and expand their cooperative relations in various fields and to immediately implement the agreements reached so far for mutual benefit. They also agreed to hold the next or 9th Joint Commission Meeting at a future date in Jakarta.
