RIYADH — Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced early Monday the launch of a special ticket for the match in which Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal stars will play against Paris Saint-Germain of France as part of the Riyadh Season Cup. The ticket has been put up at auction for the match that will be held at King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh on Jan. 19. This ticket may be the most expensive one in the history of football, after the rate reached SR2 million hours after the launch of the auction by the GEA chief. In a statement on his Twitter account, Al-Sheikh said: "For the first time... an auction was offered for only one ticket titled 'Beyond imagination' with unique and diverse features that are very special." It will have imaginary specifications and advantages, including invitation to attend the ceremony to present the Riyadh Season Cup, honor the winner of the cup, and enter the players' dressing room. The auction will end on the 17th of this month. "The auction started with SR1 million, and the entire ticket proceeds will be delivered to the Ehsan Charity platform," Al-Sheikh tweeted. The features of the ticket also include attending a gala dinner with the players, entering their dressing room, and presenting the trophy. The ticket holder will accompany Turki Al-Sheikh to the stadium on the day of the match. Tickets for the match were completely sold out within a few hours after being offered for sale on Sunday evening. The ticket prices ranged between SR30 and SR60. The historic match will witness the first confrontation between the world superstars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappe after Ronaldo's transfer to the Saudi club Al-Nassr. The stars of Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal include Ronaldo, who recently signed with Al-Nassr, while the French PSG squad include Messi, who led Argentina to the FIFA World Cup title in Qatar last month, and Frenchman Mbappe, the top scorer in the 2022 World Cup.
