RIYADH — International soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo requested the officials of the Saudi club Al-Nassr that he be treated like the rest of his squad in the club. This was disclosed by Musli Al-Muammar, president of the Riyadh-based club. "During the negotiations before signing the contract, Ronaldo requested us to treat him like his colleagues in the club," he said. Addressing a press conference to officially present the football legend as the club's new signing at the conference hall of the Mrsool Park stadium in Riyadh on Tuesday, Al-Muammar said the contract with the Portuguese captain will produce a great impact not only on Al-Nassr, but also on Saudi sports in general. "Ronaldo's deal is a remarkable addition to Al-Nassr Club and the Saudi sports, and it is not a deal for a player who came to win, but rather it is beyond that. Ronaldo is one of the best players in the history of football and hence it is natural that he is the highest-paid player in the world, which he deserves," Al-Muammar said. Ronaldo, who arrived in Riyadh on Monday night, was accorded a grand reception in the presence of a mammoth gathering of his fans and Al-Nassr officials at Mrsool Park on Tuesday.
