RIYADH — Al-Nassr of Riyadh targets the reunion of world stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos in the summer as the prestigious Saudi club is preparing to officially announce the deal for Ronaldo's transfer on Jan. 1, the Spanish newspaper Marca reported on Thursday. With a deal for Ronaldo nearing completion, Al-Nassr wants to bring in the star defender Ramos to the club upon the expiry of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain next summer. The Spanish newspaper said Ramos is the next target of Al-Nassr, alongside his former Real Madrid colleague Ronaldo, who terminated his contract with Manchester United last month. The pair won numerous titles together at Santiago Bernabeu between 2009 and 2018, including four Champions Leagues and Two La Liga titles. The Madrid-based newspaper stated that Al-Nassr officials are trying to convince Ramos, 36, to join the team next summer, after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30. Al-Nassr are currently waiting for the transfer window to open on Jan. 1 to officially confirm Ronaldo as their newest signing. Ramos starred this season with PSG after suffering injuries in his first season, but he missed playing for the Spanish national team in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar due to a technical decision by former coach Luis Enrique. Last Friday, Ronaldo's agent arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh where he met with a Saudi negotiator to complete the deal, but it was delayed longer than expected, the newspaper reported.
