Imagining life beyond our wildest dreams
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 12 - 2022

Our imaginations are key to everything we do in life.
This is where we are able to visualise our dreams, wishes and aspirations, hoping they someday come true.
Perhaps they are one of our greatest assets - allowing us to imagine what success looks like in our studies, our careers, any hobbies or sports we pursue, or our children's futures.
It doesn't really matter if we are involved in sciences, the arts or pretty much any profession, our imagination is key to innovation and achievement in almost every walk of life.
This is why I believe the amazing Riyadh Season can inspire all of us on our chosen paths.
The concept continues to grow bigger and bigger, becoming more ambitious every year, while pushing the boundaries further.
When the 2021 season was launched, the government and the General Entertainment Authority Chief Turki Al-Sheikh told us to "just imagine more".
We all did, with millions of people inspired, including 750,000 who were at the opening ceremony.
This year, however, the authorities have gone a step further and told us Riyadh Season will be "beyond imagination".
Taking place over five months, it not only gave us an incredible end to 2022, but it is set to take us into 2023 with a bang.
What better way could there be to start a New Year?
Visitors are able to experience cultures from around the world, some they may have known little about before - from America to France, Greece, China, Japan, Mexico and Morocco.
There are many awe-inspiring aspects, such as the fact visitors and locals are able to board submarines on the largest man-made lake in the world, situated in Riyadh.
Just imagining this is quite incredible, let alone experiencing it.
Everyone is being dared to dream bigger and bigger each year, with the attractions more amazing.
With it all in line with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's Vision 2030, it is quite exciting to wonder what the event will be like in eight years' time?
As we go "beyond imagination", maybe one day Riyadh Season will take to the skies with floating attractions in the clouds, rockets, or even offer us space travel.
Such thoughts may seem pure fantasy now.
But I think the authorities want there to be no boundaries, both in the ambitions of the Seasons and the minds of our people.
There are 11 Seasons that take place across the nation, captivating millions of Saudi people and visitors alike.
Through music, dance, film, sport and art, the aim is twofold - to both show we are deeply rooted in our wonderful past, but also moving fast towards the most progressive and amazing of futures.
The spectacle of Riyadh Season, though, is exceeding all expectations for all who have been lucky enough to witness events.
We should look to mirror this in life, and ask ourselves, what can we achieve in our studies, hobbies, careers and lives that may have felt impossible to us in the past?
We should all dare to dream as big as we can and let our own imaginations run wild... just like Riyadh Season, we too can achieve things in life that once seemed "beyond imagination".
