Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the 10th International Conference on Water Resources and Arid Environments is scheduled to be held between Dec. 26 and 28. The event will be organized by King Saud University, represented by the Prince Sultan Institute for Environmental, Water and Desert Research, with the participation of the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water, the Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA). The conference aims to develop knowledge and exchange information in the field of environment, water and deserts, utilize modern techniques in the studies of arid and semi-arid regions and their natural resources, as well as exchange experiences among decision makers, experts and scientists in a bid to find solutions to the challenges related to water and the environment. The objectives and themes of this conference are in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in the field of its concern for the environment and the provision and conservation of water, and with the initiatives announced by Saudi Arabia, mainly the Saudi Green Initiative. A group of winners of the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water will participate in the scientific sessions of the conference to review the creative solutions and innovations under which they received the prize and their latest research and scientific achievements. Other participants include the elite of scientists and eminent figures to deliver lectures within the conference's main themes, including water resources, the arid environment, the rational use of water and the use of modern technologies in the studies of the arid environment and its natural resources. — SPA
