RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense urged the public that they should exercise caution and vigil in the wake of the weather forecast regarding the possibility of thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rains to hit several regions of Saudi Arabia, starting from Monday until Wednesday. Moderate to heavy rains and brisk winds are likely to experience in the Saudi regions of Makkah, Madinah, the Northern Borders Region, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Hail, and that may lead to flooding, the directorate said while quoting the report of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The entire Eastern Province and Al-Qassim will also be affected by moderate rains. The NCM forecast stated that rainy thunderclouds accompanied by active winds will hit some parts of the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, Asir, Jazan, and Al-Baha during the period. The directorate also called on everyone to be careful and wary of potential dangers in such an atmosphere. It urged to stay away from the places where torrents gather, and to comply with the safety instructions announced by the Civil Defense through various media and social networking sites.
