Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef has met with several business leaders, during his official visit to Australia, on the sidelines of participation in the International Mining and Resources Conference + EXPO (IMARC), held here, from Nov. 2 to 4.
Al-Khorayef held a series of meetings including meetings with EMR Capital CEO Owen Hegarty OAM, Australian Made CEO Ben Lazzaro, BHP CEO Mike Henry, Newcrest Development Director Seil Song, and Anduril Chairman and CEO David Goodrich, in addition to meeting with LME CEO Matthew Chamberlain, Austmine CEO Kristen Gibbs Stewart, and Thiess CEO Michael Wright.
During the meetings, they discussed investment opportunities in the industrial and mining sectors, and areas of cooperation to contribute to promoting the growth and development of the two sectors, and achieving their ambitious goals,
They also discussed chances of benefiting from successful international experiences and exchanging expertise with Australia, in its capacity as one of the key mining countries globally.
The meetings come within the Saudi delegation's official visit to Australia, to introduce investment opportunities in the mining sector in the Kingdom, under the umbrella of "Invest in Saudi Arabia".
Al-Khorayef had earlier on Saturday met with the Australian Assistant Minister of Industry for Manufacturing Timothy Ayres.
During the meeting, Al-Khorayef discussed ways of cooperation between the Kingdom and Australia to enhance joint economic, commercial, and investment cooperation, especially in the industrial and mining sectors and the opportunities provided by the two sectors, and benefiting from the Australian experiences in the mining sector.
They also, in addition, discussed ways to highlight the ministry's main initiatives to develop the industrial sector, which is one of the most important factors to achieve the objectives of the "Kingdom's Vision 2030" and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global logistics hub. — SPA
