Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, chairman of the General Authority of Foreign Trade, led a high-level Saudi delegation that arrived in Helsinki Tuesday with the goal of boosting trade in goods and services with Finland and deepening the level of economic cooperation between the two friendly nations. The Saudi side seeks to deepen partnership with its Finnish counterpart during the visit, which will last until Nov. 4. These important fields of economic cooperation include transportation and logistics, education, the food and fishing industries, biotechnology and health, information technology, artificial and digital intelligence, energy and environmentally friendly solutions, and the electronic gaming sector. During the visit, Al-Qasabi is scheduled to meet with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, Finnish Minister of International Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari, Finnish Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka, Finnish Minister of Science and Culture Petri Honkonen, and Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintila to discuss ways to strengthen ties, partnerships, and collaboration in the fields of trade and investment. Al-Qasabi and the accompanying delegates will also participate in a number of meetings with representatives of the Finnish business community. These meetings will primarily focus on the mining industry and include a working lunch with the Confederation of Finnish Industries, which is made up of 19 associations and more than 15,000 economic facilities. They will also include a meeting with Nokia's president of mobile networks, Tommi Uitto, as well as other top executives from the organization. — SPA
