PARIS — The Saudi Music Commission will organize on Friday a concert at the famous Paris theatre and opera house - Théâtre du Châtelet. The Saudi National Music Band and Choir will perform along with the French Philharmonique Orchestra (The Orchestre Philharmonique). The concert titled "Masterpieces of Saudi Music" is a combined show between a Saudi band and the French orchestra and it is regarded as the first Arab participation in the history of the Chatelet Theater. This performance is aimed at enhancing cultural and musical cooperation between the two countries, as well as to promote the culture of Saudi music. The concert will include the participation of the Philharmonique Orchestra, along with 22 musicians and 40 singers from the Saudi National Band where the two bands will present a joint musical show by playing and singing a medley of the most beautiful Saudi songs. The National Music Band will perform a solo of Saudi folk songs in different traditional colors such as Al-Majrour, Al-Mizmar, Al-Khabeiti, Al-Samari, and others. The French Philharmonique Orchestra will play a solo about the Jeddah city by Italian classical composer Stefano Bernardi, which will be played for the first time on stage, in addition to a group of international classical pieces. The Music Commission's organization of this concert comes after the success of two concerts organized by it on the European Union Day in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, which were attended by the French ambassador, the European Union ambassador to the Kingdom, as well as a group of dignitaries and diplomats.
