RIYADH — The revenue of the Saudi Professional League (SPL), or MBS League clubs during the last season has amounted to SR455.2 million from sponsorship and advertising contracts, with Al-Hilal topping the list garnering 46% of the total revenue.
Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper revealed in a report the revenues of 15 Saudi clubs. The report noted that Al-Ahli, which left the professional league for the first division (for the first time in the SPL history), did not announce the results of the financial statements for the season that ended on June 30.
According to Al-Eqtisadiah, 86.4% of the total revenues were taken by the top three Saudi clubs: the first of which is Al-Hilal, with SR208.6 million or 46% of the total value of sponsorship and advertising contracts.
Al-Nassr Club ranked second with SR97.85 million, or 21.5% of the total, followed by Al-Ittihad Club in third place, with a revenue of SR86.8 million, or 19%.
As for the fourth place, Al-Shabab Club recorded a revenue of SR24.7 million, or 5.4% of the total contracts.
The report indicated that the revenue of the other Saudi clubs did not exceed 1.5% of the total value of sponsorship and advertising contracts. The return of Al-Faisalya Club amounted to SR6.7 million, or 1.5%; Al Fateh and Al Ta'ee Club recorded returns with a small difference at SR4.5 million, or 1.0%.

The Saudi Pro League (SPL) announced earlier the signing of a new sponsorship agreement with national real estate developer Roshn, a wholly owned Public Investments Fund company.
The title sponsorship agreement valued at SR478 million over five years saw the league rebranded as "Roshn Saudi League". The number of patrons for the Roshn Saudi League clubs in the current season reached 106 sponsors, partners and advertisers.
