JEDDAH — Saudi citizens who sustained injuries in a recent traffic accident in the Turkish city of Rize were airlifted to the Kingdom on Wednesday. This was in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, and continuous follow-up of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The Kingdom's embassy in Turkey, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, has carried out the medical evacuation of the citizens on board two air ambulances in order to complete their treatment in the homeland. The embassy thanked the King and the Crown Prince for their utmost care and attention for the well-being and welfare of Saudi citizens in every parts of the world. It prayed God to grant the injured fast recovery as well as to bestow health and wellness. A total of 18 Saudi tourists were injured in a bus accident in the northern Turkish region of Rize last Saturday. The Saudi embassy in Ankara said in a statement earlier that six of the injured were receiving treatment at a hospital in the Rize city while all other injured have been discharged from the hospital. The bus, carrying tourists, including 23 Saudis, overturned after hitting a concrete barrier on the roadside in an agricultural area in Asmali Yarmak village in the eastern Black Sea region.
