The system of services provided at the Prophet's Mosque and its facilities represents a form of care for visitors of the mosque and using the best technologies is just another facet of care to perform prayers comfortably. The central air conditioning station at the Prophet's Mosque is among top infrastructure projects that were implemented for the comfort of worshippers and providing proper atmospheres for visitors. The central station is built in a way that conforms to natural factors, such that it works with the variables of high temperatures in the summer and the big numbers of worshipers during Ramadan and Hajj seasons. The station is located seven kilometers away from the Prophet's Mosque with a total area of around 70,000 square meters with the biggest concentrator to cool water in the world with six coolers with a capacity of 3,400 tons each. The latest technologies are used to distribute inbound water from the station in an accurate and automated way to reach 151 air treatment units for distribution and cooling. The mosque is cooled with air pumped through pipes connected to the pillars of the mosque with the aim of completing the water-cooling cycle that returns through isolated pipes to reach the central station to complete the cooling process. The assisting agency for operation and maintenance at the General Directorate for the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque supervises the operation of cooling and all associated maintenance and other relevant works. This is done through qualified personnel comprising dozens of national engineers and technicians who work for implementing maintenance, renovation and development works for all the systems at the mosque and following up on the AC devices to ensure they operate well and with high efficiency. — SPA
