King Saud University in Riyadh has awarded an honorary doctorate to King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in recognition of his great contribution to the development and progress of the field of higher education. Dr. Khaled Bin Mohammad Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education, on Tuesday, said the KSU's honorary doctorate is a part of the gratitude to the Monarch for his contribution to the advancement of higher education in the Kingdom. Dr. Al-Anqari also underlined the King's leadership and guidance in the progress of higher education and professional scientific research institutions. Dr. Al-Anqari said King Abdullah's stress on education could be gauged from the fact that since he assumed power, nine new universities have been established in the Kingdom.
