RIYADH — Saudi budget posted highest quarterly surplus in the first quarter of 2022 with SR57 billion in over 6 years. The Ministry of Finance announced on Sunday that the Kingdom posted revenue of SR278 billion and expenditure of SR220.5 billion in the first quarter of this year. Actual revenue hit SR277.96 billion in the first quarter, a rise of 36 percent year-on-year (YoY). Oil and non-oil revenue stood at SR183.7 billion and SR94.26 billion in the same period, respectively. Actual expenditure grew by 4 percent YoY to SR220.5 billion in the first quarter of the year.
