13 inter-school cricket tournament, sponsored by Nestle Product Company and jointly organized by Western Province Cricket Association and Pakistan International School (ES), kicked off with a colorful parade of teams at the PIS-ES ground, which was set to host this new 6-A-Side competition. The PIS-ES entered first with Imran Nasir who led Saudi U-19 team to a historic championship victory in the recent ACC U-19 Trophy, leading the team. The players were introduced to the guests, sponsors and other officials. The championship featuring 11 teams will be played on three Thursdays. The ceremony was attended by Samer Daouk, Abdul Rehman Hamoud and Mohammed Habib (from Nestle Product Co.), Esar Hussain Shah (Principal of PIS-ES), Zulfiqar Ali (WPCA), Sadiqul Islam (SCC), Mrs. Sulaiman & Mrs. Mahrrof Khan (PISJ), Aizaz Toor and Mohammed Iqbal Choudhry. Samer Daouk, representative of Nestle Product Company formally opened the tournament. During his opening remarks, he declared that “Star Power” is the theme of this competition. “We are sure that Star Power will bring excitement, enthusiasm and energy for the teams and cricket fans,” said Samer. Later, Samer officially opened the first match by bowling the first ball to Esar Hussain Shah. Welcoming the participating teams Esar Hussain Shah said: “We celebrate the value of sport as a means of bringing the people together from nations, territories, cultures and traditions. The tie that binds us is the one we call the spirit of the game and we should honor it under all circumstances.” __
