The eighth batch of the oil derivatives grant provided by Saudi Arabia, through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), has arrived in Aden, Yemen, coinciding with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. The aid shipment includes 60,000 metric tons of diesel and 25,000 metric tons of mazut. The oil derivatives that have been supplied since the beginning of the grant amounted to 684,000 metric tons to meet the monthly needs of the power stations in the Yemeni governorates. The allocated quantities of the Saudi oil derivatives grant over a year reached to 1,260,850 metric tons with a cost of $422 million, as an extension of the previous Saudi oil derivatives grants, which amounted to more than $4.2 billion. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity in Yemen, Abdul Hakim Fadel, said the Saudi oil derivatives grant reduced the continuous power outages in Aden or other governorates, and had a positive impact not only in the electricity sectors, but even in other sectors, including the economic side. Fadel extended his thanks and appreciation to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia and the SDRPY for their great efforts in delivering batches of the Saudi oil derivatives grant. — SPA
