RIYADH - The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) announced on Saturday the start of implementing the second phase of issuing the Saudi e-passport. Jawazat confirmed that the citizens who is wishing to obtain the Saudi e-passport can now benefit from the service by checking all the passport departments in all regions of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi e-passport will be delivered to the beneficiary within 3 to 5 working days, Jawazat said, noting that the delivery will be in cooperation with the Saudi Post (SPL). It is noteworthy that the first phase of the Saudi e-passport for citizens has been launched earlier by the minister of interior Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif. The new e-passport has been designed with the highest modern security specifications, in addition of being compatible with the International Civil Aviation Organization requirements.
