JEDDAH — Malls across the Kingdom has begun celebrating the upcoming anniversary of the Founding Day on Feb.22. Commercial centers participated in the celebrations by holding a number of events and qualitative performances that will continue during the weekend, expressing everyone's joy on this day. These centers sought to add joy and fun during this occasion through various packages of offers and activities in which all segments of society participated, including citizens and residents of the cities: Riyadh, Dhahran, Dammam, Buraydah, Madinah, Tabuk, Hail, Khamis Mushait, Jeddah, Jazan and Arar. It featured fashion shows, handicrafts, food, and historical photo exhibitions. The shows attracted shoppers and lovers of history, and provided various opportunities for visitors of all ages and tastes to immerse themselves in this festive atmosphere that prevails throughout the Kingdom. This participation is part of the joy that will prevail throughout the Kingdom starting of Feb. 22 through artistic, cultural and historical events, and for a period of four days in which everyone will recall the glories of the Founding Day, which dates back to more than three centuries ago when the first Saudi State was established. The Kingdom will mark the Founding Day for the first time on Feb. 22, after the Saudi Cabinet adopted the day to commemorate the country's founding in 1727 by Imam Mohammed Bin Saud earlier this month. The day also celebrates the close connection between its citizens and leaders since the founding of the Saudi State in mid-1727, and until now.
