Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Space Commission, Saturday for the first time participated in the steering committee meeting of the Joint International Declaration for Global Observing System for Climate to discuss future projects, goals and aspirations to activate the convention of the joint international declaration for global observing system for climate. During the meeting, participants reviewed the joint international declaration for global observing system for climate, opportunities to organize awareness assistance activities at the international, regional and local levels to enhance and build joint capabilities to realize the goals of the space observation for climate. The commission's participation is an extension to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's joining of the joint international declaration for space observatory for climate, which is one of the latest and most importance international divers to adopt solutions based on space technologies to limit climate challenges that are facing the earth. The solutions are through providing specialists, government institutions and private organizations interested in climate change with multiple-source data, mainly satellite date, space information, expertise and space technologies related to monitoring and tracking to hold studies, prepare plans to establish, implement or benefit from existing platforms at the international, regional and local levels. Saudi Arabia's participation in the meetings of the joint in global declaration for space observatory for climate stems from its effective role in working towards limiting the repercussions of the climate change through implementing its commitments to international standards and agreements in rendering success to international programs resulted from specialized organizations to be able to perform projects to protect the environment and preserve its assets. This was clear through launching the Saudi Green and Middle East Green initiatives that are considered top global initiatives concerned with protecting the environment from climate change that were launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
