Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb launched Tuesday the Tourism Digital Strategy in Saudi Arabia as part of the ministry's efforts and plans to develop the local tourism sector, within the global technological conference "LEAP". He said that the strategy will help enrich efforts of rebuilding the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia in a way that realizes the objectives of the Kingdom Vision 2030 that seeks to make Saudi Arabia within the most important tourist destinations in the world. He added that this strategy will be inspiring for the global tourism sector. He also stressed Saudi Arabia's welcome of smart and innovative minds from across the world. Al-Khateeb also called on creative people in this field to participate in improving procedures that organize the digital tourism space saying: "We need passengers and visitors to be aware that the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia works under smart regulations." He added that Saudi Arabia would continue to make leading efforts to support the tourism sector at the local and international levels in a bid to provide more job opportunities, realize prosperity and attract more tourists and visitors into Saudi Arabia. The minister also referred to the unlimited support the tourism sector receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy prime minister and minister of defense. The strategy has already received support from the World Tourism Organization, the World Bank and digital partners, such as Microsoft and CISCO.The digital s trategy in Saudi Arabia comprises nine programs and 31 initiatives that are under implementation over three years. — SPA
