The Transport General Authority has reiterated that starting Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, vaccination with a booster dose and the "Immune" vaccinated status in the Tawakkalna application will be a prerequisite for the use of land, sea, and rail transportation in Saudi Arabia, with the exception of groups exempt from taking the vaccine and as indicated in the Tawakkalna application. The decision includes trains, taxis, car rental, passenger transport applications, buses for transporting passengers inside and outside cities, as well as ferries between Jazan and Farasan Island. This is in addition to entering the authority's headquarters and its branches and entering business service centers, as well as entering the headquarters of carriers and operators, transportation services and rental outlets, and entering transportation centers and stations and other supporting facilities. The authority explained that the application of precautionary measures in the means of transportation comes to preserve the health and safety of the beneficiaries of its services and create a safe and appropriate transportation service environment. This move is in compliance with the recommendations of the competent authorities regarding the importance of obtaining booster doses of "COVID-19" vaccines to enhance the level of immunity among the public and control the spread of the virus, especially its mutated strains.
