RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili has met with senior Omani military officials in Oman on Monday. During the visit, Gen. Al-Ruwaili was accompanied by a high-ranking delegation of senior officers of the armed forces. This visit, which is in response to an invitation from his Omani counterpart, will last for several days. Gen. Al-Ruwaili began his visit by meeting Chief of Staff of Oman's Armed Forces Rear Admiral Abdullah Bin Khamis Al-Raisi, at the headquarters of the Armed Forces' Camp Al-Murtafaa near Seeb. Their talks figured a number of issues of common interest for the military forces of the two countries. Gen. Al-Ruwaili also met with Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Sayyid Shihab Bin Tariq Bin Taimur Al-Said at his office in Al Murtafaa Camp. Accompanied by Al-Raisi, Gen. Al-Ruwaili visited the Maritime Security Center and met with the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman and Chairman of the Maritime Security Committee Rear Admiral Saif Bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, and Head of the Maritime Security Center Brig. Gen. Bahri Mohammed Bin Hamoud Al-Zadjali. At the Maritime Security Center, he inspected the equipment, modern devices and advanced systems, and listened to a briefing about their functioning. Oman's Minister of the Royal Office Lt. Gen. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al-Noamani received Gen. Al-Ruwaili at his office. During the reception, they reviewed the areas of joint cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed topics of common interest. Speaking on the occasion, Gen. Al-Ruwaili stressed the importance of the military relations between the two countries and the joint defense cooperation. He also expressed happiness and sincere thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome accorded to him and the accompanying delegation. The meetings and visits were attended by a number of senior officers of the armed forces from both sides.
